Who We Are
Sophie Laing
I have several years coaching experience, as well as relevant qualifications. This includes my CWI, Fundamentals 1, 2, & 3, and being development coach trained.
I have also been a route setter for nearly two years, giving me a different perspective on climbing and the industry as a whole.
I love looking at both the big picture and the small details, which lends itself to a holistic approach to climbing coaching.
Climbing is a hobby for most of us, and it should stay fun, even when we are being coached. In fact, if it’s fun, we’re much more likely to remember what it is we’re learning!
Coaching should fit around your time and schedule; i don’t want it to feel overwhelming or like a chore.
I am neurodivergent, and believe that climbing can be very beneficial for others who are neurodiverse (and neurotypicals too!)
I fully believe that there is nothing in climbing that can’t be learnt. We all have our strengths and weaknesses, but that doesn’t mean we can’t work with them
As a client of mine I will encourage you to self-advocate and to be an independent climber.
